Spiritual Direction

Come as you are. Experience God. See what happens.

What Is Spiritual Direction?

Spiritual direction is a sacred space where individuals can explore their relationship with God in an open and unhurried way. It is not coaching or therapy, though it can sometimes feel similar. Rather than focusing on fixing problems or achieving goals, spiritual direction centers on noticing God’s presence and activity in a person’s life.
The role of the spiritual director is to hold space, ask thoughtful questions, bear witness to the journey, and sometimes notice things the directee may not yet see. The director is not there to provide answers, but to walk alongside as a trusted companion while the directee pays attention to what God is doing in their life.

In spiritual direction, people are free to bring their real selves, including questions, longings, doubts, fears, and joys. Together, the directee and director create space to listen deeply and notice where God is present, paying attention to the sacred thread that runs through everyday life.

Sessions are typically one hour and usually take place once a month, either online or in person. The director may offer questions, reflections, or simple practices to help the directee notice and respond to what is stirring within. Everything shared in spiritual direction is held in confidence.
